On June 29th 2016, I was called to work on the YWTS60 assignment at Taschereau yard, in Montreal. CN 7266 with more than 55 years of service and a slug was our power for that night. Our assignment was to put together cars in the classification track at the south end to build some trains. A couple of hours later, while shoving in a track to pick up cars, CN 7266 was fatally sideswiped by a cut of cars at the south end of the classifications tracks. Fortunately, I was sitting on the engineers side, and I was unhurt. Today, CN 7266 sits in the dead line and has become a parts supply for her remaining sisters. Every time I see CN 7266, I remember how I was lucky and how important it is to be safe.
