Walking from Track 1 to Track 4 at the Times Square Staion of the MTA NYC Subway on Monday, December 15, 2020, one can still view the IRT Broadway/7th Avenue Line passing by the platform. When the subway opened on October 27, 1904, Times Square had been a local station. When the 42nd Street Shuttle (Grand Central-Times Square Shuttle) began operation in 1918, Track 2 was filled in to serve as a platform for Track 3.
