New "Flirt TSI" RABe 524 # 306 of the TILO is running the S 20 service 25637 from Biasca via Bellinzona to Locarno, between Claro and Castione-Arbedo. This vehicle was ordered and financed by the italian TreNord, which is part of the joint venture TILO together with the SBB. On the right is a typical Gotthard line cable hut # 26 o. With the electrification of the Gotthard Railway in 1919-1922, a total of about
60 cable huts were built along the tracks at intervals of about 800 meters. They served as protection above splice shafts in the line duct that runs alongside the track and accommodates the track cable. The track cable contained the lines for the signals, ringing stations, clocks and the railroad's internal telephone lines. In the cable shed, the cable ran into a cable distributor. Defective lines could be replaced immediately by an 800 m long emergency cable and then repaired at leisure. At the cable booths a telephone set was also mounted, usually in a wooden box on the outside.
