New Kids. Siemens Amtrak/Amtrak Midwest IDTX 4629 (Siemens SC-44) rests in the yard in Chicago, Illinois on the afternoon of Sunday, December 27, 2020. Behind it sits a 10 car train of the new "Siemens Venture Trainset". These cars have been branded "Amtrak Midwest" and are intended to be the new equipment for the Amtrak state supported operations out of Chicago. They are still in the testing phase and are not yet in service.
