| Cogwheel set rides the grade just after sunrise, 3 of these SLM-Winterthur built twins served the line from it's opening in 1970 till last summer when the line was dismantled for renovation. This was the 'Second Tatran cogwheel tram' as they call it: 1000mm gauge and Von Roll-rack track electrified with 1500V DC in an overhead wire. The first line operated between 1896-1934 using steam power, while the third one is going to have the same infrastructure as the recent just all new although new vehicles will be very different compared to these being capable to run on the racked- as well as on only-adhesion TEZ lines. |
