Remarks & Notes
The Brownsville & Rio Grande International Railroad is known for the classic EMD locomotives on their roster. Classified as a short line, the BRG services the Port of Brownsville. Here, BRG SW14 #1459 is headed back to home base after picking up a train of empty gondolas from a local industry. The 1459 was built as IC SW7 #9413 in 1950 and later rebuilt into the SW14 that it is today. Brownsville, TX is located about 27 miles from famous South Padre Island and only a few miles from the Mexico border.
