Bringing up the rear of BNSF Railway train Q-NWHLAC6-30 is one of the railway’s ten 25th Anniversary engines, in this case ES44AC 6075. And someone who assigns power didn’t follow the edict that these engines are supposed to be assigned to the point of trains (although they often are not), but did instead position it in the next-best place – on the rear, facing the rear. This train has just crested the summit of Cajon Pass and has begun its 2.2% downgrade trip to San Bernardino (note the front of the train in the distance) and, from there, on to Los Angeles.
