After making a run south to Ardmore, CSX M783-26 is seen heading northbound out of the 1915 built L&N "Luda Tunnel" located just north of Ardmore,TN/AL. During 1915 the L&N Railroad had built a new and improved right of way for mainline trackage between Nashville and Birmingham. While the original R.o.W between Athens and Columbia still stood in operation; mainline movemonts where directed through towns such as Ardmore, Dellrose, Cornersville and Lewisburg. To this day CSX still keeps the ex "South & North Alabama Railroad" mainline alive as it carries an average around 15-20 trains a day. Anyways off the soapbox history summary, the M783 runs M-F between Lewisburg,TN and Decatur,AL working industries far and between. CSXT GP35 RDSLUG No. 2325 carries the local back north to Lewisburg where the crew will finnish their day and head home.
