America Welcomes You. It was just after 1800 when Canadian Pacific Railway Train 250 formally arrived in Jackman, Maine through the CBP scanner during a day long snowfall on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Mechanical difficulties during its journey caused CMQ/LTEX 3817 (GP38-3) and CP 2318 (GP20C- ECO)to be placed in front of CMQ 9011 (SD40-2F) CP 6024 SD40-2 CMQ 9020 (SD40-2F). Perhaps the furthest railroad point of entry from a border in the US, the 25 miles to Canada is largely inaccessible and unpopulated, save for an unpaved logging road to the hamlet of Holeb, Maine. Due to the mechanical issues, train was recrewed in Canada and the original crew was brought the hotel in Jackman, but the move of the taxi was not a deadhead as the second crew was brought back to the land of the Maple Leaf and Looneys. And while a variety of power has lead over the former CMQ in recent times, it is highly unusual to see a four axle on the point.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
