Remarks & Notes
After a brief crew change, NS 393 lead by Wabash heritage unit #1070 rolls out of Bluefield, WV on the afternoon of March 7, 2021. Standing at 125 feet tall, the coaling tower in the background was constructed by the Ogle Construction Company of Chicago in 1952 and could store 2,000 tons of coal for fueling locomotives. Today, the coal tower serves as a prime example of Bluefield's railroading heritage.
