Photog CHIONE....from my collection...The Engineer on a Kansas City bound hotshot picks up orders on the fly at Laredo......This used to be a crew change point on the Milwaukee till the early 70's but was lost to the short crew agreements that the Milwaukee worked out with the Brotherhoods......It was Chi-Savanna....Savanna-Nahant(Davenport)....Davenport-Ottumwa ...Ottumwa-Laredo and Laredo to KC.......Laredo and some Savanna trains such Chi-Dubuque began run thru operations.....of course these agreements were over the 10,500 mile system and the UTU and the BLE saved the carrier lots of doe.....but by this time it was to little to late!
