Remarks & Notes |
A pair of Geeps assigned to M780 is tied down in idle on the house track across from depot on this bright brisk Sunday morning. The Nashville & Chattanooga Depot (ca.1913) in Tullahoma was built in 1884 just 32 years after the town was founded as a work camp for the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad with some believing that early resident Peter Decherd granted N&C right-of-way through his land. The Depot would stand the test of time seeing changes from different railroads and even the end of passenger service on the N&C. To this day this is one of a hand full of depot that are preserved on this line and one of two that is still being used by the CSX. |
