An Acela Express, led by AMTK No. 2006, charges past "Lincoln" tower, just shy of Metuchen station, in a race to make New York by night fall.
The tower, once used by the PRR to control trains coming in and out of Metuchen Yard was built in 1942 and today serves as a MOW building for Amtrak. It was named after a nearby Ford automobile assembly plant, Lincoln then being Ford's luxury brand
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom seen beauty of railroads from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding sunset to sunrise surprises!)
