Hill Turn
The third Freeport McMoran run up the mountain to Morenci leaves Clifton, Arizona. The train made up of loaded sulphur, acid & empty concentrate gondolas puts on quite a show as it battles the 3-5% grade of Shannon Hill. In about 15 minutes the train will have gained about 300 feet and will be passing on the level behind me. The nice newer homes are part of one of the last company towns in North America, housing workers for Freeport McMoran's massive mining complex in Morenci.
