Released from KLW on March 21st, engine number 8214 is the latest addition to the Knoxville and Holston River Railroad (KXHR) fleet. 8214, an NZESE15BDET4L has had an interesting rebuild history, initially starting out as one of GEs U/B series locomotives, before being rebuilt by NRE to 3GS21BGE specs for CSXT. In late 2017, KLW took delivery of nearly the entire CSX NRE Genset fleet and has been slowly rebuilding these units for the past couple years—8214 is a prime example of the final rebuild product, showcasing its original GE FB-2 trucks as well as the NRE style cab and long hood.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
