Remarks & Notes |
CSXT GP40-2 No. 6141 reverses through a S curve, caboose-first, along the picturesque Vaco Branch on its 0.6-mile shove to the C&O main at Deepwater. The Vaco Branch is how the C&O gained access to the Virginian Railway. The VA represents the VGN while the CO represents the Chesapeake & Ohio - hence forming “VACO”. This seldom used branch line allows the CSX access to the old VGN, which is now controlled and operated by Watco's Kanawha River Railroad. The CSX has trackage rights on the Watco side to interchange cars with WV Manufacturing at Alloy. |
