"Portbou MercancĂas" is the freight yard of the Portbou station. It has tracks of different widths: Iberian, international and mixed, all of them electrified. The construction of this platform required an imposing work supported by 20 m high walls due to the mountainous orography of the place. Two possible BB-37000 (SNCF) can be seen pulling wagons between Cerbère (France) and Portbou. Near the passenger station, several TRAXX F-140 DC units (Renfe 253) are waiting for night traffic.
