At the Winterthur locomotive depot, a "Toggenburger" truck-mounted crane is used to lift the approx. 25-ton boiler off the chassis of steam locomotive 141 R # 73. The 2-8-2 "Mikado" locomotive, built in 1945 by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima/Ohio/USA, was delivered to the french SNCF and then discarded in 1974 after nearly 30 years in service. Now privately owned, the locomotive was stored, partially refurbished, for nearly 20 years in Winterthur protected in this shed. Now the parts are transported by rail to Vallorbe to their new owner.
