I asked 338's crew what the drifts look like east of Waterloo after the last winter storm. They said around Beth there were some small ones. With bitterly cold weather, drifted in roads, and near frost bite, we managed a few shots at Beth of 338 drift busting. The train is not doing very good on speed, fighting the wind, the cold, snow drifts, fuel conservation, and the grade. From the looks of things, the snow drifts are getting going on the Dubuque Sub! The train is about 55 miles from Dubuque, the next crew change point.
