Railway operations in the "Norte Chico" (small north) of Chile, Coquimbo region. Where the desert area of the country begins, which later becomes the arid Atacama desert. To the north of the city of La Serena there is an iron mining deposit belonging to CAP Minería, and its trains carry the iron concentrate to the port of Guayacan located in the city of Coquimbo. In these operations, in addition to using 2 own branches, these trains occupy a section of the old Longitudinal Norte line, which was previously part of the state "Red Norte" and now belongs to FERRONOR.
