Remarks & Notes
SAL and ACL Meeting. Perhaps symbolic of the July 1, 1967 merger between the Seaboard Air Line and the Atlantic Coast Line, the SAL's Budd-built Silver Meteor observation car (recently acquired by the NCTM) rests in the morning sun next to the ACL's Champion E3, which prepares on a rare outing from its stall in the roundhouse to pull the day's excursion trains on the museum grounds.
