Remarks & Notes
The flowering time of the alpine crocus (Crocus albiflorus) is immediately after the snow melts. It stretches its bright white or purple calyx towards the sky. The enchanting spring flower on the mountain meadows of the Pilatus, closes the calyx in the evening, to protect the flower on frosty nights. Cogwheel railcar Bhe 1/2 # 22 of the Pilatus Bahnen (worldwide steepest cogwheel railway with a grade uo to 48.0 %) is running down from Pilatus Kulm to Alpnachstad.
