Remarks & Notes
Cement truck damages bridge

A few days ago, an eastbound cement truck tried to go under the Florida East Coast Railroad Crane Creek bridge in downtown Melbourne. The result was not good, with damage to the bridge, and trains being delayed for over 12 hours while work crew repaired the track up above and shored up the bridge with steel beams. FEC 811 and FEC 801 lead southbound train FEC 109 slowly over the bridge due to a 10 mph slow order. A replacement span, which is from a bridge that was replaced down south with a new bridge for the Brightline passenger service, sits on the road, waiting to replace the damaged span.
