"Farewell to Amtrak GG1"excursion was sponsored by Lancaster and Philadelphia chapters, NRHS, using doubleheaded GG1 locomotives to pull the special train. Trip originated at Harrisburg, PA, and operated via Lancaster, Philadelphia, Perryville, Harrisburg, and back to Philadelphia. "Farewell to Amtrak GG1" excursion has arrived back in Harrisburg. NJT GG1s 4877 & 4876 have been taken off and the accompanying AMT 363 F40PH will take the train beyond electrified territory to Rockville Bridge to turn it on the wye, then return to Harrisburg Station where the now turned GG1s with PRR 4877 leading will finish the trip to Philadelphia.
