| "Almost Overgrown" On the outskirts of Elkhorn City as of 2021, The North End of The Clinchfield is still active but the coal loadout to the right appears to have seen better days. On this day, a string of empty CSX coal gons rest on a siding across from an inactive loader that still remains. The tracks that go under the loadout are still in place but not visible. Another once thriving coal town of Eastern Kentucky has now dwindled to almost nothing at this point. |
