Conductor Walters and Engineer Cox have plenty of time to get their train, BNSF Q-NYCLAC6-08L, to the next crew change point, as it is just fifteen miles ahead and they still have 3 hours and 40 minutes before their hours of service expire. While fifteen miles in 3 hours 40 minutes seems like a sure thing, in today’s railroading environment it often isn’t. (But they will roll into the crew change at Barstow with hours to spare.). This BNSF Guaranteed Service Intermodal, which originated in New York NY and is bound for Los Angeles CA, has an all-Norfolk Southern consist, with the NS’s Lehigh Valley Heritage unit, ES44AC 8104, on the headend, and NS ES44DC 8104 behind it.
