Remarks & Notes
Over the River. A Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 train is seen crossing the Bronx River high above Westchester Avenue. The line here is quite high and features two large through truss bridges. The main reason for this construction is that the Westchester Avenue bridge here used to be a draw span, so the Pelham Line was built high enough to allow clearance without needing a moveable span. The towers in the background are part of the Bronx River Railroad Bridge, a moveable bridge on the Northeast Corridor.
