Articulated lowfloor train RABe 526 # 282 of the Thurbo is running the S 29 service 20951 from Winterthur to Stein am Rhein, between Winterthur and Oberwinterthur. This is one of the 13 trains (RABe 526 # 260 to # 265 and 526 # 280 to # 286), which were taken over by Thurbo from SBB on January 1, 2018 according to the book, but have only been in service in eastern Switzerland for a few months, previously they were running for SBB in the Biel-Jura area. Built in 2003/2004 for the Regionalverkehr Mittelland (RM) with red color scheme, they came with the merger to BLS and were then sold to SBB in 2013. They are just under 2 meter shorter than Thurbo's RABe 526 # 701 to # 805 (built 2003 to 2013) and have slightly fewer seats and a rather different interior. At Thurbo, they replace the 10 first generation articulated railcars, RABe 526 # 681 to # 689 with the 4 driving trailers, which are now withdrawn and scrapped this year. The line of the S 29 Winterthur-Stein am Rhein was interrupted for several months between Thalheim and Stein am Rhein, from january 22th 2021 to july 24th 2021, because the 332 meter long truss bridge over the Thur of 1875 between Thalheim and Ossingen had to be reinforced.
