Remarks & Notes
The captured Krupp-built German railway gun, "Leopold," at the old US Army Ordnance Museum near Aberdeen, MD. The barrel is 283 mm (11.1") in diameter X 71 feet long, with a range of 40 miles. According to US troops pinned down on the beach at Anzio, Italy, in 1944, the incoming shells sounded like an express train.
