Norfolk Southern to Boston: A Keolis Welded Rail Extra cruises past the MBTA Station in Lincoln, MA on a beautiful August morning on their way into Boston. To comply with the ACSES II mandate east of the Westminster, MA layover facility, the “T” work train crew had to add one of their own locomotives to the inbound power. This made for quite the interesting passenger-freight locomotive combo of MBTA F40PH-2C #1055 leading NS ES44DC #7564. Here, they’re on the eastern portion of the Fitchburg Route where seeing a “freight” is rare enough, let alone an active NS locomotive powering it! It’s not every day you can see something like this!
