You & The Fair...Together Again! Since 2002 (with the exception of the 2020 cancelation due to the COVID-19 pandemic) Amtrak Empire Service trains have stopped at the New York State Fair during the event. On Monday, August 30, 2021, Webb Rail-WEBX's former New York Central Railroad Budd built Pullman obs/diner/sleeper "Babbling Brook" (WEBX 800007) held the markers on Amtrak train 64 as it made the station stop at "NYF" near milepost NY 295. The first New York State Fair took place in 1841 in Syracuse, and it would subsequently be held in other cities around the state. In 1890, Syracuse, New York became its permanent home. "You & The Fair...Together Again!" is the slogan of the 2021 Great New York State Fair to celebrate its return after a 1 year absence.
