Ruth bound copper ore empties rattle west through the high desert of East Ely, NV behind a pair of classic Kennecott Copper Corporation ALCo RS's, (RS3 no. 9 and RS2 no. 5 to be specific). Though nearly every detail of this image looks like to be pulled directly from the 1950's through 1970's, this train is in-fact a part of the Nevada Northern Railway's 2021 winter photo charter. Thanks to the amazing hard work and generosity put into the Nevada Northern by both its crews and supporters, this incredible railroad continues to live on frozen in time, existing as the textbook definition of living history.
