After assembling its train in nearby Ceredo on the Kanawha mainline, CSX ES44AC No. 903 eases into the interlocking at East End Double Track, better known as EEDT, or the Milepost 3.6, on the railroad's ex-Chesapeake & Ohio Logan Subdivision. Here stands West Virginia's only double-track C&O cantilever in existence. From here to Peach Creek, about 65 miles away, this empty train and its mainline crew will pass a plethora of C&O-style signals, most of which are US&S mast and dwarf relics.
