Remarks & Notes
Cotton Candy Skies

The brisk fall morning breaks over Colorado's San Luis Valley in the late 1800's as the daily train on the Denver and Rio Grande makes its way from Denver via Alamosa to Durango. The air is crisp as 4-6-0 #168 makes her way across a bridge outside of Antonito Colorado, ahead the Silvery San Juans.

In all reality, the year is 2021 as 168 makes her way westward on today's Cumbres and Toltec. Today's train is all restored, authentic equipment indigenous to this railroad. The 168 and trainset was rebuilt by a dedicated workforce of employees of the Cumbres and Toltec led by then CMO, Stathi Pappas. The 168 was pulled from the Colorado Springs park in the later part of the 2010's where it had sat in repose since 1939.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
