| Two-unit electric locomotives 2ES6 "Sinara" are designed for hauling freight trains on the Russian gauge (1520 mm) railways electrified with 3kV DC system. They are positioned as the main substitute for obsolescent electric locomotives of the series VL10 and VL11. A single two-unit locomotive can haul 8000-tonne trains on flat (below 6‰) tracks or 5000-tonne trains on steep (below 10‰) tracks. |
