| Here we see a rare event. Amtrak engine 202 (P42DC) has solo duty leading the #5 California Zephyr from Iowa to Denver, Colorado. The #6 CZ had hit a garbage truck in Iowa necessitating the removal of its two engines. The #5 lent the #6 one of its engines and proceeded to Denver, where another Amtrak P42 was added for the journey through the Colorado Rocky Mountains. |
