Sunrise at Ferguson's Trestle...RGS-style. Passing over what has become the iconic sunrise photo spot on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, Rio Grande Southern 10-Wheeler #20 rumbles across Ferguson's Trestle (MP 285.87) on a September, 2021 charter for Lerro Photography. On this particular morning, there was clearly some smoke in the air from western wildfires, which dimmed the sunrise a bit, and actually made it easier to photograph. Note the Fireman, illuminated by his fire as he shovels the black diamonds and makes that nice black plume that photographers crave.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
