Remarks & Notes
Railcar Bhe 1/2 # 28 of the steepest rack railroad in the world left Pilatus Kulm station as train CC 22 to Alpnachstad, the travel time is about 40 minutes. The view is from the 2106 meter high Oberhaupt peak over the station/restaurant/observation terrace area (with a cable car going down to the left to Kriens/Lucerne) to the 2119 meter high Esel peak. The Pilatusbahn from Alpnachstad to Pilatus Kulm was opened in 1889 and is the only one to use the Locher cogwheel system, the height difference is 1635 meters, the line length is 4618 meters.
