Remarks & Notes
New Technology. When the Kawasaki built R-110As entered service on the New York City Transit Subway System on June 15, 1993, they were never intended to be regular service cars, but instead to be a testbed for various technology and improvements to learn the lessons of the R-62/62A order and apply it to the as yet undefined R-142/R-142A cars. By 1998, various issues lead NYCT to pull them from service, along with deciding that they had learned all they could to improve the next generation of subway cars. The 6 “B” cars (no cabs) had already been converted to “reacher cars” by the time the “A” cars (cab ended) 8001/8005/8006/8010 were moved to the South Brooklyn Railway Yard at 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn, New York to await departure by truck, as seen on the night of Tuesday, December 21, 2021. The cars will be paired as 2 each pump and generator to enhance the subway’s flood response fleet at the Brookville Equipment Corporation facility in Brookville, Pennsylvania.

Whether applied to locomotives or cars, stainless steel provides a distinctive finish.
Nocturnal Nuances & Lights In The Night! (Between Sunset - Sunrise / Sundown - Sunup!)

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
