Remarks & Notes |
An unknown Re 4/4 II (Re 420) of the SBB is shoving in the rear of a heavy southbound Hupac intermodal train over the Gotthard mountain line. The train was pulled by a red "Re 10/10", this is a Re 6/6 and a Re 4/4 II in mutliple control. The train winds over the top "level" of the loops at Wassen, with a gradient of 2.6 % and 300 meters curve radius, the train head is just in the upper Entschigtal avalanche gallery. A pushing locomotive is on trains with more than 1600 tons gross weight usually over the north ramp from Erstfeld to Göschenen on the train and then goes as a locomotive train back to the valley. |
