A westbound drag freight climbs the Chumstick cutoff grade west of Leavenworth with a pair of F9s on the point and vintage Geeps supporting, with more old EMD power on the rear as helpers. The grade here is about 1% but will increase further west at Merritt for the final climb to the Cascade Tunnel at Berne, WA.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
