Remarks & Notes
Cane fields and sugar mills. The landscape of South Central Florida is dominated by the sugar production industry, and there are multiple major corporate players in that business. Here, US Sugar's recently restored Pacific Locomotive #148 takes a cane train past a competitor's sugar mill near the town of Okeelanta, as it heads compass west toward the company's own massive facility south of Clewiston, Florida.
