| For my 13'000 contribution on Railpictures.net, I choosed this winter picture of the Bernina line. "Bernina Crocodile" Ge 4/4 # 182 of the Rhaetian Railway, built in 1927 by SLM and SAAS for the then independent Bernina Railway as # 82, is pulling a freight train over the Roseg creek bridge between Pontresina and Surovas during a R.M. photo charter. The locomotive was withdrawn by the RhB in 1977 and sold to France in 1984. In 1999 rescued by association "Club 1889" and brought back to Switzerland, rebuilt and operational again since 2010 and based in Pontresina. |
