Known around the world, and arguably the best street running operation in the country, Chicago South Shore & South Bends’ iconic 11th street passageway, shuts down Sunday Feb. 27th, 2022, as plans to re-construct the road & rails is to commence. A bucket list item for most railfans, and now impossible for the foreseeable future, the last freight train rumbles down 11th street towards CSSs Bailey Yard with four matching GP38-2s. The oh so admired Leslie horns echoing off buildings will forever be a sound not long forgotten.
