Remarks & Notes

EMD 462 and its traveling locomotive test set were in Auburn, WA in fall 1977 doing test work on their SD45-X on Stampede Pass. The pass was a favorite location for EMD to test mountain grades on their developing motive power. The GP50/SD50 series would be the result of this program.
