| D&RGW #5371 has picked up it’s loads of contaminated waste at the set-out track at Wellington, Utah and is now running east on the ex. Rio Grande main across the shale flats towards the junction with the Sunnyside Industrial Lead at Mounds. #5371 is now 33 years old and is throwing some oil smoke that is drifting back over the tarp covered waste bins. Today's run with the “Dirt Train” is 5371’s next to last revenue trip. Three days later, on February 29th., will be it’s last run as it will be removed from service and hauled to Denver. Ultimately it will get a new home at the Utah State Railroad Museum in Ogden. |
