It has been the tradition over recent years to run a charter train from London around the British mainland for 9 consecutive days , returning to London on the 9th day. Covid restrictios meant that this charter didn't run for the last two years. However this year it's back and the first day involved a run from London to Edinburgh and two steam locomotives were used. Tomorrow it will be steam hauled again to the North of Scotland and then over the next week it will head to Penzance,in the far South west before running back to London. Every day steam locomotives are used. The second locomotive today was British India Line seen here at Alnmouth close to the Scottish border
