Remarks & Notes
The conductor on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner 785 (San Diego to Goleta) has detrained in order to flag the Palm Avenue grade crossing on Metrolink’s Orange Sub. This train is running about 90 minutes late, due to an incident that occurred earlier at this spot to a Metrolink southbound commuter train. As a result, the crossing gates and lights are being worked on by a swarm of Maintenance of Way contractors, and the already late passenger train needed to creep across the grade crossing once the conductor got traffic stopped (and, no surprise here, many of the drivers didn’t understand why they needed to stop). Once across the street, the engineer in Cab Car 6907 will stop briefly in order for the conductor to get aboard once again, and then highball to Anaheim, just another two-miles ahead.
