Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific train LOA32 has just gotten onto Santa Ana Street, which it will travel down the middle of for a mile before turning south and traveling another half-mile down the center of Olive Street as it heads to south Anaheim to service some industries (such as International Paper and Ganahl Lumber) before jumping onto Metrolink’s Orange Sub for a few miles to get to more industries in southern Santa Ana. UP GP40P-2, the last passenger locomotive ever purchased by Southern Pacific (as SP 3199, later SP 7602), and GP60 1083 have eight cars in tow. And, yes, this train blew right through that stop sign at Citron Street! (But, they’re allowed to do that.) (Anaheim, California – March 9, 2022)
