With a single locomotive fore and aft, an eastbound BNSF vehicle train follows the Missouri River as it exits Lombard Canyon at Lombard, Montana, on the afternoon of July 2, 2017. On the opposite side of the river is the empty Milwaukee Road Pacific Extension roadbed.
